Questions to ask yourself...
What does your dream yard look like?
Your landscape plans may sometimes begin on a small scale, but you should always keep in mind what your dream yard would look like. Maybe you want a fire pit and seating area for those nice summer nights, or maybe you would love to have a playground for the kids to play. If your budget doesn't allow for you to install your ultimate yard all at once, you can always have it completed in steps as your budget allows.
How long do you see yourself living in your current home?
Depending on how long you can see yourself staying put, may play a role in how much you're willing to invest in the landscaping for your property.
Will you require landscape maintenance?
Landscapes change quickly and require proper maintenance to keep them looking neat and tidy. Consider how much time you will be able to put into mowing the lawn and gardening to maintain your newly landscaped yard. You may also want to consider a budget for professional maintenance services.
Are you looking for privacy from your neighbors or a need to block noise?
Plants, bushes, trees, shrubs, berms, and knolls can all add sound deadening to a landscaped yard. Other options would include those of stone and wood; whether it be a stone wall or a wooden fence. Naturally, these all add privacy to your property.
Why is your quotation higher?
Usually you will find that quotations among reputable companies are quite similar. However, sometimes there can still be a difference, significant or otherwise.
One common reason that quotes can vary from company to company is due to an error in estimating costs. We try our best to ensure that we haven't overlooked the requirements of the project. If you find that a competitors estimate is significantly lower, they have likely overlooked something. This often means that they will cut corners when completing the job, or they will ask for a larger budget halfway through the job.
